Beginning with Stones
A stone is a quiet object. To begin with one is less about belief than about attention — choosing something to return to, the way you might keep a book by the bed.
Start with a single stone that catches your eye, not the one with the longest list of virtues. The right first stone is usually the one you keep reaching for.
Live with it for a while before adding others. Notice when you reach for it, and what you are reaching through. If a practice forms, it will be yours to shape.
SERENITY KNOTS writes about objects and attention — not outcomes. What a stone means to you remains yours to decide.
